Our lead Child Health Nurse is Jan Murray.  Jan’s interest in babies started at 11 years old when she encountered a “real live baby” for the first time! 

Jan started her career as a Registered Nurse then studied to become a Midwife shortly afterwards.

During the 80′s and 90′s Jan gained practical early childhood experience as her husband and herself raised their own five children. Parenting young babies however, was not as easy as she had first thought, therefore, she furthered her professional education by studying and gaining a certificate in Family and Child Health Nursing in 1998. This area of work then became Jan’s passion and focus.

As Jan has experienced the maze of parenthood she now supports other parents with the valued information that she has gained and continues to gain both personally and professionally.

Jan’s love of babies and young children as well as a practical but educated knowledge base has helped her create a service that will put at ease parent’s stress and indecision.

Yin Health’s parenting and child health sessions include:

• Infant and toddler growth and development

• Maternal support and guidance in the postnatal period

• Feeding and sleeping techniques from birth until 5 years old designed to meet individual needs, thereby creating a positive home environment

We can assist you in your parenting journey by seeing you and your child at Yin Health clinic.  Jan also leads our parenting sessions and can provide extensive hard copy and e-book materials. (Home visits are also available on the Sunshine Coast only).
